Overview #
Volt Vectors provides the ability to connect language models to your website for various applications like LLM chats. In this post, we’ll be:
- Setting up a chat interface powered by OpenAI through Volt Vectors
- Customizing the LLM chat title, welcome message, etc.
- Testing out the LLM chat to see it respond intelligently
Prerequisites #
Before starting, make sure you have:
- Access to the Volt Builder in your WordPress site
- A Volt Vectors license with credits to utilize the OpenAI API integration
Steps to Create the LLM Chat #
Follow these steps:
1. Add a new Volt Vectors chat #
- Go to Volt Builder > Volt Vectors > Alt Chats
- Click “Add” then “Chat” to create a new conversational interface
2. Configure chat settings #
- Internal Title: Name it something like “Basic Chat”
- External Title (Optional): Can name it something customer-facing like “AI Assistant”
- Context: Select the “Chat Default” system prompt
- Language/Tone: Configure as needed
- Opening Message: Customize welcome text
3. Select OpenAI profile #
- Under “Profiles” choose the “Base LLM” profile to connect to OpenAI
4. Set additional options #
- Message length, style customizations, etc.
5. Publish chat #
- Once configured, publish the chat
- Copy shortcode
6. Embed LLM chat #
- Paste shortcode into a post or page to display
7. Test LLM chat #
- View the front-end and interact by asking questions
- Check bot responses for coherence
